Chamba: A man in Himachal Pradesh was charged with attempt to murder for throwing a party and infecting three others, after his return from another district earlier this month.
The accused has been identified as a resident of Chamba and a driver by profession. He held a liquor party outside his home with two friends, breaking both the social distancing and home quarantine norms, reported The Indian Express.
In the process, he also infected his two-year-old daughter. “He not only threw a party but also shared cigarettes with his friends,” said Director General of Police, SR Mardi, calling it a “suicidal act.”
The daughter and friends tested positive on May 10. The former reportedly suffers from heart disease. A case has been filed against him under Section 307 (Attempt to Murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
