The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned countries, grappling with coronavirus pandemic, that the infection has not yet reached its peak.

Addressing a briefing in Geneva, WHO spokesperson Margaret Harris said that since 90 per cent of the cases are reported from Europe and the United States of America, the world is yet to witness a stronger impact of the pandemic.

While countries like Spain and Austria on Tuesday partially eased down the lockdown allowing people to return to their offices, Britain, France, and India decided to continue with the lockdown to contain the deadly virus.

According to WHO, there has a decline in COVID-19 cases in some parts of Europe, including Spain and Italy, but the number continues to spike in Britain and Turkey.

To relieve some of the pressure on its slowing economy, construction and manufacturing businesses in Spain were allowed to resume while shops, bars, and other public places have been shut till April 26.

Similarly, in Austria, the shops were reopened on Tuesday.

With more than two million cases of coronavirus, these countries are struggling to cope with lives and livelihood.
