Coronavirus Outbreak: Hotel Quarantine Facility For The Foreign-Returned In Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: Three three-star hotels in the Odisha capital have agreed to provide quarantine facilities to persons returning from abroad.
Ginger Hotel at Jaydev Vihar, Empires Hotel at Saheed Nagar and Hotel Kalinga Ashok at Kalpana Square in the Odisha capital are offering a room for the 14-day quarantine period, which is mandatory for all travellers, on payment of Rs 2,500 a day. It includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, besides two bottles of water, official sources said.
Each of these hotels has set aside 100 beds for this purpose.
This is perhaps first such attempt by any state government in the country and efforts are on to rope in more big hotels to double up as quarantine facility for suspected COVID-19 patients, the sources added.
The move assumes significance against the backdrop of 2,131 persons registering their travel details on CVID-19 portal of the state government after returning from 80 countries.
Among them, 20 per cent landed in Odisha from the UAE, 9 per cent from the US, 5 per cent from Saudi Arabia, 4 per cent each from the UK and Malaysia and 1 per cent each from Italy, South Korea and France.
