Angul: Town police on Saturday arrested a youth for spreading rumours over coronavirus.
Police said the accused, Bijay Kumar Soni, had posted a message on social media about a person affected with coronavirus in his locality, triggering panic in the town.
Police began an investigation and found the message to be fake. They then arrested Bijay and seized his mobile phone.
Earlier, Talcher police had arrested a youth for a similar offence.
