Bhubaneswar: After detection of two coronavirus cases in India, the Odisha government has issued an advisory for proper screening of people coming from China and the neighbouring countries to the state.
In a notification, the Health and Family Welfare Department has issued four telephone numbers (0674-2390466/9439994857/9439991221/9437040564) and requested people to immediately inform about health of those who have arrived in the state from China, Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore.
The state government will conduct a thorough test of these people and take follow-up action without delay, the notification added.
Notably, the authorities of the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack have sent the swab and blood samples of two medical students of Odisha to the National Institute of Virology in Pune after they arrived from China.
The students are now being kept in an isolation ward of the hospital for observation.
