Outside of China, Italy, South Korea and Iran have reported the highest number of positive cases of Coronavirus. And now from Italy, the virus has reportedly spread to other parts of Europe as well.
In Austria, a young Italian couple were confirmed to have the virus. Authorities have sealed off their home. A man in his 70s in Switzerland has been put in isolation after he tested positive for the virus. This man was living close to the Italian border.
In Croatia, a man has tested positive after his return from Italy. Around 1,000 guests are locked down in a hotel in Spain’s Tenerife after an Italian doctor and his wife tested positive.
In the other part of the world, Iran’s deputy health minister, Iraj Harirchi, tested positive for the virus on Monday. The country has reported 95 cases, but the real number is expected to be more.
The director general of the World Health Organization (WHO) has said that the increase in cases outside China is “deeply concerning”.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo commented that Iran might have concealed ‘vital details’ about the outbreak and asked all nations to “tell the truth about coronavirus”.
The total number of cases reported are 81,017 while 2,765 have died and 30,187 have recovered.
