Boudh: A couple was injured in an alleged ‘third degree’ torture by Boudh police station inspector-in-charge (IIC).
The victims have been identified as Rabindra and his wife Padmini Mallick. Padmini, who sustained critical injuries, was admitted to a local hospital for treatment.
According to sources, the couple was picked up from their house at Sarasara village in Boudh district by IIC Priti Manjari Garnayak late on Wednesday in connection with a case and later thrashed the duo mercilessly in the police station during interrogation.
The victims have lodged written complaints with Boudh SP Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra, who stated that action will be initiated after conducting a thorough inquiry into the matter.
