Cuttack: In a landmark ruling, the Special Chit Fund Court on Thursday directed the Odisha government to refund small investors duped by Rose Valley chit fund company.
The government has been asked to disburse Rs 92.08 crore among 2,38,477 small investors.
Regarding the mode of disbursement of money, the court directed the government to identify the genuine investors at the panchayat level through the Revenue inspectors. It would be deposited in their respective bank account.
The investors who had deposited Rs 7,000 in the chit fund company will get back the total amount, while in cases of more than Rs 7,000 and less than Rs 10,000, the government will credit Rs 7,000 and 50% of the remaining invested amount in their account.
