Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Saturday notified that the normal functioning of the High Court as well as the district and subordinate courts and tribunals coming under the jurisdiction of Khurda, Ganjam, Cuttack and Jajpur districts and Rourkela Municipal Corporation, will remain suspended till July 31.
The High Court will have restricted functioning with limited number of Judges by virtual mode as per the roaster assigned by the Chief Justice and take up only extremely urgent matters on advance memo of urgency submitted by advocates/litigants to the Deputy Registrar (Judicial) by e-filing mode/e-mail with advance intimation to the opposite parties, the notification said.
However, hearing of cases will take place by virtual mode/video conferencing. Filing of new cases during the period of lockdown shall be permitted only by e-filing mode or e-mail. The High Court premises will remain closed except for minimal number of the authorised officers and staff.
All the staff members of the High Court, district and subordinate courts and tribunals have been directed to stay at the headquarters.
