COVID-19 2nd Wave: Odisha DGP Abhay To Address Media At 4.30 PM Today

Bhubaneswar: Odisha DGP Abhay is scheduled to hold press meet at 4.30 pm today.

The DGP is likely to apprise people about police efforts to check the spread of COVID-19 cases in the state and appeal for strict adherence to safety protocols.

All eyes are on the the DGP meet as COVID-19 cases peak in the state despite imposition of several strict restrictions.
The government has imposed night curfew and weekend shutdown  to check the transmission rate and police forces have been working round-the-clock to ensure that COVID protocols are followed.

Despite all the restrictions and imposition of fine on violators of COVID appropriate behaviour by police, municipal corporations and civic bodies, the several districts continue to be in the red zone.

Will the DGP announce more stringent measures to curb COVID cases?

It may be mentioned here that Odisha on Thursday reported 6,998 new COVID-19 cases while 12 patients succumbed.
