Nedw Delhi: In a major boost to healthcare workers, the production capacity of coveralls required by medical personnel treating COVID-19 patients in the country has been ramped up to more than 1 lakh per day.
The cumulative production till date is approximately one million coverall units, which will be music to the ears of those who are in the frontline in the war against the novel coronavirus global pandemic.
Bengaluru has become the leading centre for personal protective equipment (PPE) Coverall production, making nearly 50 per cent of what is currently available.
PPE Coveralls are also being manufactured in Tirupur, Chennai and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, Ahmedabad and Vadodara in Gujarat, Phagwara and Ludhiana in Punjab, Kusumnagar and Bhiwandi in Maharashtra, Dungarpur in Rajasthan, Kolkata, Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and a few other places.
Body Coverall (PPE) is a specialized protective suit designed to provide high-level protection to the health professionals and has stringent technical requirements as prescribed by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
