Bhubaneswar: Amid the lurking danger of community transmission following the detection of the fifth COVID-19 case with no travel history in Odisha, the state government has decided to enforce complete shutdown (curfew-like) for 48 hours in Bhubaneswar and Bhadrak town from 8 am on Friday.
“The earlier MHA order on restrictions has been revoked and new shutdown regulations are being implemented by OSDMA. Anyone found violating curfew rules will be picked up from their houses and put in quarantine facility of the government,” said Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy.
Action will be taken under the penal provisions of the Disaster Mangement Act, he said.

“This is a serious matter and I solicit your full corporation,” he said, adding that the lockdown passes issued earlier will not be valid during this period.
This is being done to break the chain in the positive case locations since 4 of the 6 COVID-19 cases in Odisha have been detected in Bhubaneswar, he added.
