COVID-19 Courage: This Odisha Doctor Took 184 Blood Samples Of Suspected Patients Before Being Quarantined Herself
Jharsuguda: Dr Silwanti Jojo collected the blood samples of 184 suspected COVID-19 patients in the district in less than a month (March 27 and April 14) before getting quarantined herself.
“Being the officer of Jharsuguda blood bank, I had to go out of my way given the pandemic situation. Though I wanted to continue with my duty, my seniors advised me to take a break and to be in quarantine,” said Jojo Madam, as she is fondly called.
“My day used to start at 9 am with a hospital van coming to pick me up. Given the high risk factor, I had to be extra careful,” she said.
She would take all the precautionary measures after returning home, like dipping her clothes in Dettol and warm water before taking a bath with soap and warm water.
