Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 death toll in Odisha rose to 522 on Wednesday with eight more patients succumbing to COVID-19 infection in the last 24 hours.
The Health Department identified the deceased as:
1. A 60-year-old male from Balasore district who was also suffering from diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease (stage-V), Ischemic heart disease.
2. A 72-year-old male from Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from diabetes & hypertension.
3. A 66-year-old female from Cuttack district who was also suffering from diabetes.
4. A 67-year-old male from Cuttack district who was also suffering from diabetes, bronchial asthma.
5. A 78-year-old female from Ganjam district who was also suffering from diabetes.
6. A 56-year-old male from Ganjam district who was also suffering from diabetes.
7. A 45-year-old male from Ganjam district.
8. A 50-year-old female from Kandhamal district who was also suffering from diabetes.
With these eight new casualties, the virus so far has claimed 197 lives in Ganjam district, followed by 70 in Khurda, 36 in Sundargarh, 34 in Cuttack, 26 in Rayagada, 18 in Gajapati, 16 in Puri, 15 each in Sambalpur and Nayagarh, 13 in Balasore, 11 in Kandhamal, nine each in Bargarh and Bhadrak, seven in Malkangiri, six each in Jajpur and Keonjhar, five each in Mayurbhanj and Balangir, four each in Jagatsinghpur and Angul, three each in Koraput and Kendrapada, two each in Sonepur, Dhenkanal, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi and one in Jharsuguda.
