New Delhi: Twenty-four days into the nationwide lockdown, the doubling rate of those infected by the deadly novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has come improved significantly.
Whereas previously new cases in India were increasing twofold in 3 days, coronavirus positive cases are now doubling in 6.2 days nationwide, informed Joint Secretary , Union Home Ministry, Lav Agarwal on Friday.
According to Agarwal, Odisha is among 19 states which are doing better than the national average.
He also informed that there has been a 40 per cent decline in the growth of cases in the country. As of now, the total number of infected people is 13,835, of whom 1767 have recovered and 452 died.
Odisha has been handling the situation remarkably well, with no fresh cases reported in the past 72 hours. Of the 60 positive cases reported, 19 have recovered while just one person has succumbed to the virus.
