COVID-19: Enforce Norms Strictly To Prevent 2nd Wave, Odisha CM Tells Officials
Bhubaneswar: In order to prevent second wave of COVID-19 pandemic in the state, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday directed the chief secretary to make daily review of the situation and told the district authorities to spread awareness and enhance surveillance.
Reviewing the COVID-19 situation at a virtual meeting with district collectors and SPs and other stakeholders, Naveen said since the pandemic has raised its head again in some states, they should be prepared to prevent its spread in Odisha.
He directed the district authorities to give special attention for enforcing the guidelines like wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and washing hands at public places, especially in markets, religious institutions and wedding venues.
Directing all departments concerned with the disease to take it up seriously, he told the Health and Information and Public Relations departments to step up public awareness and launch IRC campaign.
Chief secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, additional chief secretary and Health department Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra also spoke at the meeting which was coordinated by 5T secretary VK Pandian.
