On Friday (April 23), a TRP of 14.27 per cent was reported after 6215 of 43538 samples tested for the virus.

It was 13.7 per cent as 6416 samples of 44983 were found positive on Thursday (April 22).

The (TPR) had come down slightly from 14.71 per cent (samples tested 32349 and positive cases 4761) on Tuesday (April 20)to 12.5 per cent (samples tested 38548 and positive cases 4851) on Wednesday (April 21). The TPR of 12.28 per cent (samples tested 36175 and positive cases 4445) was recorded last Monday (April 19).

Though Odisha had set 50,000 COVID-19 tests a day target from April 19, it has managed to conduct 44983 so far. The tests also dropped below 40,000 on Monday (April 26).

Experts had earlier expressed concern over infection being left undetected in the state with RT-PCR tests barely touching 40 per cent against the 70 per cent advised by ICMR.
