New Delhi: India recorded 3.26 lakh new COVID-19 cases and 3,980 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total caseload to 2.43 crore on Friday. The toll touched 2.62 lakh.
One good news is India’s cumulative COVID-19 recoveries have surpassed the two crore mark with 3.53 lakh patients getting discharged in the last 24 hours. This is the fourth time in the last five days that recoveries are more than daily cases.
According to the health ministry, over 18 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country till Friday.
Among the states, Maharashtra reported under 40,000 cases for the first time since March 31 on Friday. The 39,923 new COVID-19 cases reported on Thursday has pushed Maharashtra’s caseload to 53.09 lakh. Nearly 80,000 people have passed away due to virus-related complications in the state since the pandemic started.
