New Delhi: India reported 3.62 lakh fresh cases and 4120 deaths in the last 24 hours on Wednesday. This took India’s tally to 2.37 crore and toll to 2.58 lakh.
However, there is growing concern over patients getting infected with a deadly fungal infection.
The active caseload comprises 15.87 per cent of the country’s total infections. Among the states, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu account for 82.51 per cent of the total active cases, according to ministry.
However, India continues to account for 95 per cent of cases and 93 per cent of tolls in the South-East Asia Region, as well as 50 per cent of global cases and 30 per cent of global deaths, the top global health body said.
