COVID-19: India Records Lowest Spike Since May 2020; Active Cases Below 50,000
New Delhi: India recorded the lowest daily spike in close to 22 months as only 3,993 new cases of COVID-19 were found in the last 24 hours on Tuesday, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
This is the second consecutive day that the country has logged under 5,000 daily COVID-19 cases.
A total of 4,362 coronavirus cases were reported on Monday. According to data, daily COVID-19 cases have remained below one lakh for 30 successive days.
The country also saw 108 fresh fatalities, which took the toll to 5,15,210, showed the Union health ministry data.
Active cases dropped further below 50,000 and are 0.12 per cent of the total cases. There are currently 49,948 active cases in the country.
