COVID-19: India Reports 2.71 Lakh New Cases; Positivity Rate Drops Marginally

New Delhi: The COVID-19 graph showed an upward trend as the country reported 2.71 lakh fresh cases with 314 fatalities in the last 24 hours on Sunday, according to the Health Ministry.

The total caseload of the country now stands at 3.71 crore, which includes 7,743 Omicron cases, which has now been found in 28 states.

The active cases now are 4.18 per cent of the total COVID infections and the national recovery rate has dropped to 94.51 per cent. According to Health Ministry’s updated data, an increase of 1,32,557 cases has been recorded in a span of 24 hours.

However, the daily positivity rate witnessed a marginal improvement from 16.66 per cent to 16.28 per cent while the weekly positivity rate stood at 13.69 per cent.

The cumulative doses of vaccines administered in the country till date under the nationwide drive has exceeded 156.76 crore, said the ministry.
