New Delhi: India recorded 55,722 new cases of COVID-19 overnight, the lowest in five days, the Union Health Ministry said on Monday.
Besides, 579 patients succumbed in the last 24 hours, marking the lowest number of fatalities in months.
The ministry said the cumulative tally of COVID-19 cases in the country crossed the 7.5 million mark to stand at 7,550,273 on Monday. This included 772,055 active cases. Meanwhile, the death toll has soared up to 114,610.
