Bhubaneswar: In view of the nationwide COVID-19 lockdown, the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday postponed the JEE Main 2020 examinations to the last week of May.
“Exact date of the examinations will be announced after assessing the situation in the coming weeks. We are hopeful of getting back to normal relatively soon. But for now, we are closely monitoring the scenario to evaluate if the situation may necessitate any change in the schedule,” NTA director general Vineet Joshi said in a statement.
The examinations to be held for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board for courses viz B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning were earlier scheduled on April 5, 7, 8, 9 and 11.
Stating that the admit cards will now be issued after April 15, 2020, based on the situation at that time, Joshi said NTA would keep the students updated about the latest developments and inform them about changes and exact dates of examination much in advance.
