Bhadrak: Eleven motorcyclists were fined for allegedly violating the COVID-19 lockdown in Odisha’s Bhadrak on Monday.
The Bhadrak RTO collected Rs 67,000 from the violators for taking to the roads despite the ongoing restrictions which includes movement limits.
Earlier in the day, the Town police had arrested a shopkeeper for violating restrictions imposed by the district administration to contain the spread of COVID-19.
The cement shop owner of Gaba Sahi area in Bhadrak town had opened his shop, violating the district administration’s order during the lockdown in the town. He was later forwarded to a local court.
Notably, the lockdown, which was in force in Bhadrak town, has been extended to the entire district till March 29.
