Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has directed collectors to distribute kerosene oil to non-ration card holders for their domestic use in view of the situation arising out of COVID-19 lockdown.
The non-ration card holders will be provided 2 litre kerosene per family on first-come-first-serve basis, informed Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain.
The collectors have been asked to to utilize the available kerosene – 3458 KL oil with the wholesalers and 98 KL with the Fair Price shops as on March 31 – for this purpose.
They have also been asked to submit a detailed report regarding distribution of kerosene to non-ration card beneficiaries with the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department.
This decision will benefit over 17 lakh non-ration card holders families in the state.
