COVID-19 Lockdown: Odisha Govt To Strictly Enforce Social Distancing
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday decided to strictly implement the lockdown and social distancing measures to check the spread of COVID-19.
The decision was taken at a review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy at Lok Seva Bhawan here.
Tripathy also directed the various departments concerned to intensify feeding programme for needy people at the panchayat level.
The meeting also deliberated on issues pertaining to assistance to Odias stranded in other states as well as people of other states stranded in Odisha.
The transportation of essential goods to different parts of the state, feeding programme at the urban local body (ULB level) level, distribution of various types of social assistance pensions, arrangement of medical camps at the panchayat level, development of Covid-19 critical care units, roping in of NGOs and inter-agency group volunteers for extending help to people were also discussed.
Development Commissioner Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Additional Chief Secretary and SRC Pradeep Kumar Jena along with principal secretaries, secretaries of the departments concerned and nodal officers engaged for Covid-19 were present at the meeting.
