COVID-19 Lockdown: Odisha Urges Centre To Cut Down Courses Of Studies
Bhubaneswar: Taking note of loss of three-month studies of students following the closure of all educational institutions in Odisha amid COVID-19 outbreak, the Odisha government has urged the Centre to cut down the courses of studies to lessen the burden on the students.
Briefing mediapersons on Wednesday, School and Mass Education minister Samir Ranjan Dash said that he has taken up the matter with the Union Human Resource Development Minister and urged him to sincerely consider cutting down the courses of studies so that they can cope up with their studies in the remaining nine months of the academic session.
Regarding online education, the minister said that some students attending online classes through the Diksha app. As the five-year tenure of the contract employees engaged to provide online education through this app, is going to expire this month, he has requested the HRD minister to extend their service contract by one year.
