Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday appealed to the people to remain alert for next two months in view of second phase of resurgence of coronavirus in Europe leading many countries to impose lockdown.
Reviewing the COVID-19 situation and vaccination process in the state, Naveen said from commercial establishments to temples have opened completely and schools are going to open shortly. But people have to be careful in their daily activities to prevent COVID-19 from bouncing back, he added.
Stating that Odisha has managed to combat the disease, he said its intense phase has passed as maximum number of districts have become green zones. He thanked the doctors and health workers in this regard.
He further said the COVID-19 vaccine has generated great hope among the people and Odisha is fully prepared for successful vaccination. He emphasised on clarifying the misconceptions among the people and creating massive awareness regarding the vaccination.
“COVID-19 vaccination will be the biggest programme of the year and we are fully prepared for it,” Naveen said.
