Bhubaneswar: Fresh COVID-19 positive cases in the capital city saw an increase from the previous day, but the number remained well below four digits.
In the last 24 hours, 747 people tested positive in Bhubaneswar, compared to 471 on Thursday.
Testing has been affected in a few districts of Odisha since Wednesday due to Cyclone Yaas and restoration work. That may have resulted in lower daily caseload in the state and districts.
Of the new cases in the capital, 121 are from quarantine and 626 through local contacts.
Maximum cases were reported from Patia (33), followed by, Sailashree Vihar (32), Dumduma (30), Khandagiri (28), Mancheswar (27), Old Town (24), Jharpada Jail (20), Uit-16 (19), Baramunda (18), Jharpada, Patrapada and Chandrasekharpur (16 each), and Sunadrpada (15).
Meanwhile, 995 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. Total number of cases in the city stands at 73,101.
Bhubaneswar has seen 60,903 people recover from coronavirus so far. It currently has 11,846 active cases.
