Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement squad of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday sealed a private school in Chintamaniswar area for violation of COVID-19 guidelines.
Acting on a tip-off, the squad raided Sai Saraswati Vidya Mandir and found the school authorities conducting offline classes and examinations in gross violation of coronavirus guidelines.
The squad later served a notice on the school authorities and sealed the institution for an indefinite period.
Talking to media BMC Zonal Commissioner Anshuman Rath said a report has been sent to the School and Mass Education Department.
The school was functioning even as the state government in its December guidelines stated that all academic/technical/skill development institutions will remain closed till December 31 or till such date as decided by the Departments concerned.
