Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government employees will have to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for attending office in the capital city from July 1.
“It has been decided that all employees of Departments/ subordinate offices/ PSUs in Bhubaneswar must get double doses of the vaccine and attend office regularly from 1st July, 2021,” the General Administration and Public Grievances department stated in its notification to all heads of departments.
“In case any employee has been unable to get vaccinated for medical or some other compelling reason, s/he must apply for an exemption to the Head of the Department/ Organisation. On receipt of such application(s), the matter can be considered on a case-to-case basis. Employees who are neither vaccinated nor exempted would not be permitted to attend office w.e.f 1st July, 2021 and their absence will be treated as wilful,” the notification said.
The government is conducting a special drive for vaccination of government employees of all departments/subordinate offices/PSUs in Bhubaneswar till June 20.
The first dose of vaccine was administered to about 6,000 employees and second phase of the drive is in progress from June 17 for complete vaccination of the employees.
