Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Monday achieved the target of vaccinating one lakh elderly persons in a single day. Sharing the news, Health Secretary Pradipta Mohapatra thanked each and every officer and staff for making it a success.
Mohapatra said, “I thank you for your support and also thank my Directors, Collectors, Municipal Commissoners, CDM and PHOs and all the field staff for their dedicated endeavour to achieve the target of 1 lakh vaccination per day set by the department for the elderly people.”
As per the H&FW department, a total of 1,21,572 persons were vaccinated on Monday (March 15) of which 1,00,273 were elderly, 5,320 healthcare workers and 15,979 frontline workers.

According to the details shared by H&FW department, 95,576 persons above the age of 60 and 4,697 persons in the age group of 45 to 59 years (those with comorbidities) got the COVID jab in the state today.
With this, 4,43,885 senior citizens and 22,743 comorbid persons have got the COVID vaccine in Odisha so far. No AEFIs were reported today at the vaccination sites, stated the department release.
On Monday, there were 927 active sites in the State out of which Covaxin was administered at 46 sessions.
The Odisha Government has administered 12,81,362 vaccine doses till date.
