Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in Odisha went up to 47,455 on Monday with the addition of 1,528 positive cases in the last 24 hours.
Out of the 1528 new cases reported from 29 districts, 948 were from quarantine centres and 580 were local contacts.
Dhenkanal and Sambalpur districts reported their highest single-day spikes of 107 and 168 cases, respectively.
Overall, Ganjam led the state tally with 233 cases, followed by Khurda (218), Sambalpur (168), Sundargarh (126), Dhenkanal (107), Cuttack (72), Bhadrak (70), Koraput (67), Balangir (59), Balasore (43), Malkangiri (38), Jajpur (33), Nayagarh (32), 31 each in Kalahandi and Gajapati, Rayagada (27), Puri (26), Nabarangpur (23),22 each in Jagatsinghpur and Mayurbhanj, 17 each in Kendrapada and Kandhamal, Bargarh (10), Jharsuguda (9), Angul (8), Boudh (7), five each in Keonjhar and Sonepur, and Nuapada (2).
With 286 deaths and 31,784 recoveries, Odisha now has 15,334 active cases.
