Sambalpur: The Sambalpur administration announced a day shutdown on Sunday (July 5) to contain further spread of COVID-19 in the district.
Sambalpur has so far reported 70 COVID-19 cases and 36 among them have recovered from the infection.
The restrictions will remain in force across the western Odisha district for 24 hours.
According to the official notification, vehicular movement, non-essential services and business establishment activities will not be allowed during this period.
Legal action will be initiated against the violators under provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and Section 188 of the IPC and other legal provisions as applicable, it added.
