Bhubaneswar: Even as Odisha witnessed a spike in COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, the capital city continued to report such cases in two-digit figure.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 23 new positive cases were registered in the city during the period including 11 from quarantine centres and the rest 12 local contacts.
Among the quarantince cases, maximum 5 patients were detected in Old Town area with 2 cases each from Patia and Nageswar Tangi and 1 each from Kharavela Nagar and Unit IX.
Among the local contacts, there were 2 cases from Samantarapur and 1 each from Baramunda, IRC Village, Kalpana Chhak, Laxmi Sagar, Nalco Chhak, Old Town, Patia, Raj Mhal, Saheed Nagar and Sastri Nagar.
Total 10 patients have recovered from the disease in the city during the period.
With the day’s addition, the positive tally has gone up to 32,219 while there are 117 active cases at present.
