Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Wednesday imposed restrictions on public access to its offices in places where the incidence of COVID-19 infection is high, particularly Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
In an official order, additional chief secretary, General Administration and Public Grievance said in view of resurgence of COVID-19 in the state, there shall be restriction on entry of outside people to the government offices in the twin cities and the districts where the incidence is high.
“Only in extremely urgent cases, entry will be permitted in a government office based on approval of the senior-most official. For redressal of public grievances, intensive use of e-Abhijog portal will be made,” the order stated.
Stating that COVID-19 protocols should be strictly implemented in all offices, it said physical meetings shall be discouraged, unless urgent and necessary. Meetings should be held online, as far as possible.
During physical meetings, a minimum distance of 2 metre should be maintained. Official works will be managed, as far as practical, by use of virtual means, the order said.
