Bhubaneswar: With educational institutions in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack reporting more cases, the Odisha government is mulling to stop classroom teachings in schools from April 1 and ask students to only attend remedial sessions.
At present, classes are being conducted in physical mode for students of classes IX, X, XI and XII.
School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said courses of the students will be completed by April 1 and revision will start thereafter. The department, therefore, is now contemplating holding only doubt clearing sessions in schools.
The minister asserted that schools have managed to keep the virus at bay by implementing COVID guidelines in all seriousness on campuses. The district authorities have been asked to enforce the safety protocols in school hostels, he added.
Following the detection of a COVID-19 cluster at XIMB, Bhubaneswar Municipal Commission has also started random checking and testing at all hotels of educational institutions in the city.
