Bhubaneswar: Considering the spike in COVID-19 cases in five states of the country, the Odisha government has directed the district heads and officials concerned to ensure strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols across the state.
Informing about the measures to be taken, Khurda Collector Sanat Mohanty said lockdown will be imposed at places where corona cases rise and if needed, containment zones will also be announced.
Containment zones are being earmarked by the respective district administration who decide as per the Covid-19 situation in their respective areas, a government release stated.
The government has also has asked the officials to remain alert and keep vigil on those coming to the state from outside destinations. Special focus will be given to public transit places like airport and railway station, he added.
Resumption of awareness drives regarding the safety measures to be followed to check COVID-19 and requested people to be careful to avoid contracting the virus, he added.

Strict enforcement of Covid appropriate behaviour to prevent any spike in cases has also been stressed by the government while carrying out the mandatory tests.
The government has allowed reopening of all public facilities with COVID-19 guidelines in place but laxity of any kind could lead to a resurgence, so the people have been warned and requested to follow social distancing, wear masks and wash hands frequently.
