Malkangiri: Two civic bodies in the district have reported a steady rise in the number of COVID-19 positive cases.
Out of 73 new cases reported in the district in the last 24 hours, 19 were from Malkangiri Municipality and Balimela NAC while the remaining 54 were from 7 blocks of Kalimela (9), Korukonda (20), Khariput (8), Malkangiri (11), Mathili (1), Padia (4) and Chitrakonda (1).
Out of total 1156 positive patients in the district, the two civic bodies account for 384 cases in the last 14 days since August 1.
With 2 deaths and 767 recoveries, Malkangiri district has 387 active cases.
