Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in Odisha touched 72,718 on Friday with 2698 fresh cases being reported in the last 24 hours.
These new cases from all 30 district were detected following a record 56,479 COVID testing, which included 11,358 RT-PCR, 44,950 antigen tests and 171 Truenat tests.
According to I & PR department, 1675 among them have been detected in quarantine centres while 1023 are local contact cases.
Khurda leads the tally with 475 cases, followed by Cuttack (207), Ganjam (162),Rayagada (154), Koraput (146), Mayurbhanj (128), Sundargarh (103), Balasore (102), Nayagarh (94), Nabarangpur (91), 89 each in Bhadrak and Kendrapada, Puri (87), 81 each in Malkangiri and Kandhamal, Jajpur (80), Sambalpur (78), Jharsuguda (72), Balangir (71), Gajapati (58), Bar;garh (56), Kalahandi (49), Sonepur (31), Angul (29), Dhenkanal (27), 21 each in Jagatsinghpur and Keonjhar , Boudh (11), Nuapada (3), Deogarh (2).
With 390 deaths and 48577 recoveries, Odisha now has 23698 active cases.
