Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital reported 159 new COVID-19 cases and a record 102 recoveries in the last 24 hours, which took the total to 2150 and 1011 respectively.
Among the new infections, 118 are quarantine and 41 local contact cases.
Of the quarantine cases, 44 are from Trinath Basti in Nayapalli here. Another 20 cases have been detected from Aiginia and 13 from Kharvel Nagar in the city. Barring one with travel history to Hyderabad, 117 of the total 118 quarantine cases are linked with an earlier positive patient.
Three among the local contact cases have travel history to other hotspot districts. Another seven cases have been detected from Salia Sahi.
“Further contact tracing is on. Primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined and sanitised and these will be under active surveillance,” the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation tweeted.
