Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital saw 149 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which pushed the affected tally to 3217 on Tuesday.
Among them, 98 are quarantine and 51 local contact cases.
Barring two with travel history to Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, all quarantine cases are linked to previous positive patients. Among them, the highest of 14 have been reported from Kandha Sahi at Siripur followed by 11 from Sali Sahi. Three more employees of private hospitals have also tested positive for the virus.
Among the local contact cases, four are from Old Town and three from Salia Sahi. Two more cases have been reported from a slum at Nayapalli.
On the other hand, the city saw 145 more patients recovering from the disease since last evening. Among them, 32 from Trinath Basti, 17 from Aiginia, seven from Bharatpur, five women from Mali Sahi and three ( one man, two women) from Salia Sahi have been cured.
With 18 deaths and 1943 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 1254 active cases.
