COVID-19 Test Must For Odisha Ministers, MLAs Ahead Of Assembly Session: Speaker
Bhubaneswar: All ministers, MLAs and staffers of the Assembly Secretariat will have to undergo manadtory COVID-19 test two days before the commencement of the monsoon session of the House, Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro said on Monday.
The Speaker said this after presiding over a meeting in which Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kumar Das, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha, Additional Chief Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) Pradipta Mahapatra and senior officials of the Health Department were present.
Patro informed that a special counter will be set up on the Assembly premises for RT-PCR test and there will be a rapid test five days after the RT-PCR test. Besides, antigen tests will be carried out for all senior officers set to attend the Assembly session.
He, however, added that the date for the commencement of the session was yet to be decided.
