COVID-19 Toll Surges To 6435 In Odisha, 21 From Khurda
Bhubaneswar: With another 69 patients succumbing to COVID-19 infection, the toll in Odisha has soared to 6435 on Sunday.
The Health and Family Welfare Department has clarified that the list of fatalities is the details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to COVID-19.
Among the deceased, Khurda district has the highest figure of 21 followed by 13 from Cuttack, 8 from Sambalpur, 6 each from Balasore and Sundargarh, 5 each from Bargarh and Keonjhar, 4 from Jharsuguda and one from Deogarh.
In terms of the total number of deaths, Khurda district has the highest 1286 deaths followed by Sundargarh (557), Ganjam (461), Cuttack (428), Puri (399), Bargarh (298), Angul (272), Mayurbhanj (226), Kalahandi (201), Balasore (213), Sambalpur (186), Rayagada (160), Jharsuguda (165), Nayagarh (155), Kendrapada (151), Keonjhar (143), Dhenkanal (131), Jagatsinghpur (106), Balangir (108) and Boudh (106).
