New Delhi: An overnight addition of 52,050 positive cases took India’s COVID-19 tally to 18,55,745 on Tuesday.
This was the sixth day in a row that COVID-19 cases the surpassed 50,000 mark in the country.
Also, 803 people succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s death toll to 38,938, the Union Health Ministry informed.
The cumulative recovered cases (12,30,509) though have surpassed active cases by 6,44,211.
The fatality rate of cases dipped a bit to 2.10 per cent and was observed to be falling progressively, according to a Health Ministry release. Also, India’s recovery rate continues to rise and now stands at 67.31 per cent.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 2,08,64,750 samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far, including 6,61,892 on Monday.
