COVID-19 Update: India Registers Highest Single-Day Spike; Sample Testing Inches 1 Crore Mark

New Delhi: India on Friday, registered the highest single-day spike of 20,903 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours taking the total tally of positive cases to 6,25,544.

A total of 379 have died due to COVID-19 across the country since Thursday taking the toll to 18,213, the Union Health Ministry said on Friday.

Testing samples for COVID-19 inched closer to the one crore-mark. According to the Indian Council Of Medical Research, 92,97,749 samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far, including 2,41,576 on Wednesday.

On a positive note, 3,79,892 people recovered from the infection as of now. At present, there are 2,27,439 active COVID-19 cases in the country.
