Bhubaneswar: Although there is a gradual fall in the number of new COVID-19 cases in the state capital, the local contact cases remain higher.
Out of the 281 new cases reported in the city in the last 24 hours, 68% are local contacts (192) and 89 are quarantine.
While Chandrasekharpur has the highest 9 cases, BJB Nagar, Jharpada, Patia and Chintamaniswar have 8 cases each followed by 7 each from Khandagiri, Patrapada and Nayapalli, 6 from Baramunda, 5 each from Laxmisagar, Saheed Nagar, Mancheswar and Sailashree Vihar and 4 each from Ghatikia, Sundarpada and Unit-9.
With the new cases, the total confirmed cases in the city have gone up to 26,016.
With 122 deaths and 22,525 recoveries, Bhubaneswar has 3348 active cases now.
