Bhubaneswar: The number of new COVID-19 cases in Odisha came down further on Sunday with 2,019 positive cases reported in the last 24 hours. The comparative tally was 2,196 on Saturday.
Also, the spike of 2,019 cases on Sunday was the least reported in over a month and a half.
Of the new cases, 1,168 are in quarantine and 851 are local contacts.
Among the districts, Khurda led the tally with the highest of 283 new cases, followed by Cuttack (150), Angul (129), Mayurbhanj (111), Sundargarh (99), Nuapada (90), Bargarh (77), Jajpur (73), Balangir (71), Balasore (69), Kalahandi (69), Sonepur (68), Jagatsinghpur (64), Kendrapada (61), Nabarangpur (60), Keonjhar (58), Sambalpur (52), Jharsuguda (43), Bhadrak (41), Koraput (41), Nayagarh (40), Dhenkanal (38), Ganjam (33), Kandhamal (31), Puri (30), Rayagada (24), Deogarh (20), Malkangiri (20), Boudh (12) and Gajapati (6).
Besides, the state pool has 56 cases.
At present, Odisha’s total tally stands at 2,68,364. These include 22,949 active cases and 2,44,227 recovered cases.
