Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has prepared a database to administer COVID-19 vaccine to more than 3 lakh healthcare workers (HCWs) in the first phase.
According to the additional chief secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Pradipta Mahapatra, out of estimated 3,02,708 HCWs, the database of 2,95,349 HCWs in 3463 health centres has been prepared. The details of the HCWs and their Aadhaar numbers have been updated in the COVID-19 Vaccination Beneficiary Management System (CVBMS).
He said that the HCWs including doctors, nurses and paramedics in both government and private settings besides the ASHA and Anganwadi workers associated with 3683 health centres across the state will be vaccinated.
“Out of 3683 health centres, 3463 centres have provided the database of 2,95,349 HCWs (98%) while the database of the remaining 7359 HCWs will be provided by 220 centres,” Mahapatra said.
Mahapatra said that out of 30 districts, the Health Department has received the database of all HCWs of 16 districts viz., Angul, Bargarh, Boudh, Bhadrak, Deogarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Keonjhar, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Sonepur and Sundargarh.
