Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Wednesday warned the registered medical practitioners in the state against issuing false co-morbid certificates for COVID-19 vaccination.
The Health and Family Welfare department in a letter to district collectors, municipal commissioners, CDMOs and superintendents of government MCHs has stated that the COVID-19 vaccination programme for people of 60 years and above and in the age group of 45-59 years with co-morbidities has been launched on March 1.
The department has directed the officers to ensure that the provisions of issuing medical certificates to people with co-morbidities are not misused by medical practitioners.
It also warned that detection of false medical certificate will call for action against the medical practitioner as well as the person who produces it.
